The Bardo Museum(just outside Tunis)






The Bardo Museum houses the finest collection of Punic, Christian, and Roman mosaics in the world. It was originally a palace for the Royal Family, built in the late 17th century but was converted to a museum in 1888. It hasn't the don't touch feel of European museums, so it makes for a less stressful tour with the absence of security guards and cameras. It seems ridiculous that when you tour the place, you step on the most beautiful and ancient pieces all the way through...
